The LMU Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations serves as the primary liaison for corporate and foundation interactions with the university. The Office fosters relationships with corporations and foundations whose interests and giving priorities are aligned with LMU's academic programs, activities and initiatives.
Ways to Partner With LMU
The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations helps corporations and foundations design strategic partnerships with LMU that create mutually beneficial relationships and results.
These wide-ranging collaborations include philanthropic giving opportunities (such as scholarships and capital improvements), employee recruitment, research alliances and continuing education. We identify partnership opportunities and makes introductions to university faculty and leadership.
LMU depends on funding from corporations and foundations as it strives to fulfill its mission and commitment to academic excellence, through the university's outstanding student body, faculty and programs.
Support for Students
Corporations and foundations can help ensure the development of an educated work force.
LMU is committed to sustaining a diverse and talented student body. Financial aid, scholarship and fellowship support enhance LMU's ability to attract and enroll exceptional undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of their financial circumstances. Nearly 83 percent of current LMU students receive some type of financial assistance to pay for tuition. Increased aid creates more opportunities for deserving students to achieve their academic and career goals.
Support for Faculty
Corporations and foundations can establish valuable relationships with leading scholars and researchers.
LMU aims to pursue critical resources to retain its current gifted faculty and to seek out distinguished educators to build upon the work of predecessors. The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations links faculty with corporations and foundations, creating and strengthening strategic alliances that support faculty research and teaching, and provide funders with access to research that addresses today's issues. Knowledge gained through these partnerships will benefit both the institution and the University and enhance the LMU community's understanding of corporations' and foundations' strategic goals and missions.
Support for Programs
Corporations and foundations can partner with LMU to benefit the community and foster innovation.
LMU's distinctive programs reflect the university's threefold mission: the encouragement of learning, the education of the whole person, and the service of faith and the promotion of justice. These mission-driven programs enrich LMU students and serve the Los Angeles community. Examples of this engagement can be seen in the Family of Schools initiative, a partnership with 11 Westchester K-12 schools (public and Catholic) to improve educational outcomes; in the interdisciplinary environmental research conducted by undergraduates in the nearby Ballona Wetlands; in the thousands of volunteer hours logged by students to benefit underserved people locally and internationally; and in the contributions to public policy and civic involvement made possible by the University's applied research.
