An endowed professorship enables the university to support more fully the teaching and research work of an outstanding junior or senior faculty member who are leaders in their field nationally and internationally. It also helps attract distinguished faculty who will enhance programs and provide our students with a variety of perspectives.

Professor Christopher Chapple is heavily engaged in advancing knowledge and interfaith theological inquiry. Students continue to play a vital role in his Sanskrit research, assisting with weekly seminars, editing scholarly works, and helping inspire new ideas.
