Kathy Ash, Associate Vice President, Administration and Chief of Staff

Kathy Ash joined University Advancement as executive director of campaigns & strategic initiatives in 2022. As associate vice president, advancement administration and chief of staff for University Advancement, Ash provides leadership and oversight for the division’s budget, office management and operations, human resources, and talent management. She provides strategic, programmatic, and operational assistance to the SVP, assisting with the planning and execution of priorities for the division and the University.

Ash has a strong record of success in fundraising, strategic and resource planning, finance and operations, and project and program management. She previously served LMU in the roles of associate vice president of development in UA, and prior to that, as associate dean of business services in the School of Education. She also held the position of executive director for the Catholic Education Foundation of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Ash earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a Master’s in Special Education from Loyola Marymount University. She and her husband, Kevin, live in Playa del Rey, California. They have two grown children and one very spoiled dog. In her free time, Ash enjoys travel, reading, hiking, and being outdoors.
