LMU Arthur P. Carroll Jr. Wine Classic
Since its founding in 1981 by Loyola Marymount University (LMU) alumnus Arthur P. Carroll Jr. ’61, the LMU Wine Classic has become a beloved tradition, raising more than $1.6 million to expand educational access and honor the values at the heart of an LMU education. More than just a celebration of California’s finest wines, the event honors Art Carroll’s enduring commitment to education, philanthropy, and Jesuit values.
The 44th LMU Arthur P. Carroll Jr. Wine Classic will be held Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027.

About the Arthur P. Carroll Jr. Endowed Scholarship
For 43 years, LMU Wine Classic founder Arthur P. Carroll Jr. ’61 combined his appreciation for fine wine with his passion for philanthropy to create a beloved tradition that has raised more than $1.6 million for student scholarships. During the pandemic, the university established the Arthur P. Carroll Jr. Endowed Scholarship in lieu of an in-person LMU Wine Classic to honor the event’s founder and continue supporting LMU's students. After Carroll passed away in 2021, his signature annual event was renamed the LMU Arthur P. Carroll Jr. Wine Classic, reflecting the thriving legacy of a dear friend as well as the students and graduates whose LMU education he helped make possible.
LMU Wine Collective 2026 Release
Each year, the LMU Wine Collective creates a special, limited-edition blend. The 2026 release is a limited-edition 2024 Sauvignon Blanc crafted in partnership with Costa de Oro Winery. The bottle features “In the Beginning,” a 2001 stained-glass artwork by Genevieve Underwood, R.S.H.M., which graces the Interdenominational Chapel for Prayer and Peace in University Hall. This release honors our ongoing collaboration with LMU vintners Gary Burk, P ’20, and Teresa Gasca-Burk ’83, P ’20. Each purchase supports LMU student scholarships, offering our community a meaningful way to raise a glass to a brighter future.
Silent Auction
The Wine Classic features a silent auction showcasing exclusive items and experiences, directly benefiting the Arthur P. Carroll Jr. Endowed Scholarship. We welcome contributions such as travel packages, wine collections, event tickets, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Businesses and individuals alike are invited to participate. Your generosity elevates this signature event and makes a meaningful impact on our students.
