Stacy Barnes
Senior Director of Development, LMU School of Film and Television
Stacy Barnes first joined University Advancement in 2010 and now serves as senior director of development for LMU School of Film and Television (SFTV). Barnes is focused on strengthening relationships and cultivating new partnerships for SFTV. She is also engaged in fundraising opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations across campus.
Barnes began her fundraising career in Washington, D.C., with the Atlas Performing Arts Center. She has held key roles with The Theatre @ Boston Court Pasadena, UCLA School of Film and Television, UCLA Film and Television Archive, Geffen Playhouse, and LA Stage Alliance. During her time in higher education, she has raised funds for scholarships for under-represented students, large capital projects including the Broccoli Theater for SFTV, and programmatic initiatives from the Copley Costume Design Center at UCLA to the Incubator Lab at LMU. Prior to fundraising,, Barnes worked in the entertainment industry, holding positions at Quincy Jones Productions, Warner Bros., and Warner Music Group.
In her spare time, Barnes is an amateur singer, producer, writer, and storyteller, having performed on stages from McCabe’s in Los Angeles to Slainte Public House in Kentucky. She is an avid hiker and walking enthusiast, having completed the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage as well as numerous hikes along Kentucky’s Red River Gorge. Barnes currently serves as board treasurer of 24th Street Theatre, an award-winning Los Angeles theatre and arts organization. She also volunteers for numerous nonprofit organizations including the Humane Society, Youth Theatre of the Bluegrass, and the International OCD Foundation.
