Robert Kondo joined University Advancement in 2024 as assistant director of Alumni and Family Engagement and now serves as associate director. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives that strengthen alumni connections to LMU through meaningful engagement opportunities, volunteer leadership development, affinity-based programming, and signature campus events.

Since joining LMU, Robert has helped expand engagement opportunities for alumni and families across the university, including the reimagining of LMU Grand Reunion and growing the Asian Pacific Islander Alumni Association Board and ambassador program. He also expanded LMU's Day of Service initiative in partnership with colleagues across University Advancement.

Prior to LMU, Kondo served at the Boys & Girls Club of Whittier, where he developed and managed volunteer, internship, work-study, and mentorship programs that connected college students with opportunities to serve local youth. Before that, he worked at Whittier College, where he coordinated community engagement initiatives, served as liaison and moderator for the Whittier Consortium on Homelessness, and led public art projects that brought students and community members together through collaborative mural creation.

Kondo is a Whittier College alumnus, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Interpretation of East Asian Arts with a minor in Japanese culture in 2015, and Master of Arts in education in 2022. In his free time, Kondo enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and honing his craft as an artist.
