Director of Development, School of Education
Michelle Duro joined University Advancement as director of development in 2018. She brings more than 14 years of experience in development and highly successful strategic fundraising techniques. Duro is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of LMU School of Education's fundraising, including major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, and the comprehensive campaign for individual giving.
She comes to LMU from two East Coast universities as an executive director of corporate and foundation relations, Girl Scouts of Orange County as a vice president of development, and UC Irvine as a senior-level development officer for the School of Education, where she led efforts successfully to launch a first-time capital campaign to build a new state-of-the-art STEM center for girls, and close a $1B university campaign with the most funding raised from her school.
Prior to this, she enjoyed a long-time career in television production as a recipient of both an Emmy Award and Emmy Award nomination at NBC-NY, ABC-LA, and Paramount-Hollywood. She was selected with distinction to attend Oxford University for one year, and earned a master's degree in education and history from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. In her free time, Duro enjoys reading thought-provoking books, and any outdoor sports including running, swimming, hiking and golf.
