Senior Director, Board Relations
Michelle Bernardin joined University Advancement as associate director of development for women and philanthropy in 2010. Now as director of board relations and strategic stewardship, she is the primary liaison with the LMU Board of Regents, the UA liaison to the President's Office, and manages the LMU Centennial Society, which recognizes and honors donors who have given $1 million or more to the university.
Prior to LMU, she worked for 10 years at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, managing the museum's two volunteer support councils and the internal logistics for its annual fundraising events. She also has worked at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Getty Center.
Additionally, she has served as a member of the Cultural Affairs Commission for Culver City, California, and as president of the Culver City Historical Society from 2014-18.
Bernardin is a native of Culver City and a third-generation Californian. She earned a B.A. in art history at UCLA and continued her graduate work in art history and museum studies at Tufts University in Massachusetts. She is an avid foodie, enjoys baking in her kitchen, and loves sharing the exploits of both on social media.
