Assistant Director of Development, Alliance of Women Philanthropists
Desirée Finigan joined University Advancement as assistant director of development for the Alliance of Women Philanthropists (AWP) in 2018. She works closely with members of AWP, which is comprised of donors and leaders of the LMU community. In her role, she is also responsible for recruiting members to assume volunteer leadership roles, increase involvement, and broaden the base of support by women at LMU. Finigan assists AWP in making an impact through managing their scholarships and microgrants awards. Additionally, she helps oversee and execute AWP's programs and events, including the annual AWP Annual Speaker Series.
A graduate of LMU School of Film and Television, Finigan began her career in television production and worked on various series including "The King of Queens" and "Criminal Minds." In 2012, Finigan joined the Junior League of Los Angeles, Inc., a women's organization promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community. Finigan's leadership in the League included positions on the Board of Directors and Management Council, where she served as development vice president and oversaw all League fundraising efforts, which included two successful new fundraisers. In addition to her volunteer work, she enjoys traveling and cheering on her San Francisco Bay Area sports teams.
